Peel Halton Girls Softball – About the Oakville Angels Rep League

The Oakville Angels Rep League is a fast-pitch softball league that was founded in 1989, playing other Peel Halton girls softball association teams and other nearby fastpitch softball clubs.

The Oakville Angels have always fielded very competitive teams and have won medals at the Regional, Provincial and National levels.

The Rep program offers girls an opportunity to play the sport of softball at the highest level in the country. We are affiliated with the PWSA (Provincial Womens Softball Association) who are the governing body for Select and Rep softball in the province of Ontario. We adhere to the guidelines set by PWSA, Softball Ontario and Softball Canada.

Girls who have the skill and commitment to have fun at the Rep Level in Oakville are given the opportunity to play in Provincial Grand Championships which may allow them to qualify for the Canadian National Championships held annually in a designated city in Canada.

Rep tryouts for the 2025 season are being held the week of Sept 2nd, 2024.

Girls looking to get into the Rep program must attend the fall tryouts and be selected by the coaching staff based on skill level, individual commitment and family commitment.

Tryouts dates and times by age group will be posted on the OGSA website in late August and early September.

The Rep teams are picked and finalized by the end of September of each year.

Peel Halton Girls Softball Schedule

Teams train approximately 2 times per week for 2 hours each session from November to April.

Teams play in the PHGSA (Peel Halton Girls Softball Association) which is an amalgamation of rep organizations in close proximity to each other (i.e., Brampton, Georgetown, Mississauga, Vaughan, Oakville etc.).

League games are played through this association or rep coaches may join or form their own elite leagues depending on the competition level they are looking for.

All rep teams play a schedule of weekend tournaments throughout Ontario and the USA, determined by the coaching staff.

Peel Halton Girls Softball Costs

Cost to play in the Rep League varies from team to team depending on factors such as the number of tournaments, specialized training costs, indoor training facility rentals, uniform requirements, etc.

Costs usually range from $2000 to $3000 per player.

Because the rep teams are 100% self-funded, the teams engage in fundraising and solicit corporate sponsorships to offset the aforementioned player fees. Due to the nature of Rep amenities, under no circumstances will fees be pro-rated or refunded.

Making the jump to Rep is a big commitment for the player and her family, but the rewards are equally as big in this sport.

Just ask any Rep parent or player.

It is binding to all parents, players, coaches, managers and team staff that the registration process to a Rep team binds all parties to the Code of Conduct of the OGSA outlined on website, governance and all subsequent policies and disciplinary rulings.

Any issue, grievance, or complaint that affects or involves any member of the OGSA must first be filed with the OGSA Officials before any other outside Affiliation. Any grievance filed with another Affiliation before a formal filing to the appropriate OGSA Official first could result in further disciplinary actions and reversal of other outside Affiliation decisions.
